Receive useful information and resources to help particpants talk about their work goals, prepare for a planning conversation and connect to a suitable provider.
10:00 Why the Workplace Gets Autism and ADHD Wrong – and How We Can Fix It Silvino Rodrigues

Drawing from lived experience and the insights of Employing Variant Minds, Silvino will expose the unseen barriers Autistic adults face at work, as well as gives attendees practical tools to shift how we think about Autistic talent.

This session will benefit job seeker, employer, support worker, or ally, you’ll leave with the language to advocate, the insight to empathise, and the knowledge to help reshape employment into a space where Autistic strengths are not just accepted—but valued.

10:30 Building a Disability Confident Workforce Spinal Cord Injuries Australia SCIA has three pillars to build a disability inclusive workforce. This informative session will cover how we develop job ready employees, build confident employers and the match them together to form sustainable and meaningful working relationships.

12:00 More Than Just a Job – Helping People Understand Their Skills and Strengths Council of Intellectual Disability More Than Just a Job aims to make open employment for people with intellectual disability an everyday occurrence. Are you a person with intellectual disability looking for a job? The More Than Just a Job workshop can help you understand your skills and strengths, know your career goals, and choose jobs that are right for you. This workshop will introduce you to career planning resources co-produced by people with intellectual disability.
13:00 Pathways to Possibility: Employment Readiness for People with Disabilities Kathrine Peereboom Join us as we explore innovative strategies to empower individuals with disability and unlock their potential in the workforce. This presentation is designed to provide practical tools, resources and insights to help build confidence and job readiness, ensuring that everyone has a path to employment success. Let’s break barriers together and create inclusive employment for all.
14:00 Heart of the Matter: Living and Working with Cogential Heart Disease Clarissa Pitsikas Clarissa Pitsikas is a resilient 45 year old woman living with complex, invisible illness for which there is currently no cure. Her journey has been marked by setbacks, but also by moments of deep clarity, growth and connection. Through it all, she has learned that resilence is built not just in strength, but in honesty and self-compassion.

The WorkAbility Expo is a dedicated event connecting people with disability and inclusive employers, providing resources, support, and networking opportunities to advance their employment journeys.

The expo is designed for people with disabilities who are looking for employment, their families, caregivers, and anyone interested in learning about inclusive employment opportunities.

The event is free to attend, but we recommend registering in advance to secure your spot.

We encourage all attendees to register in advance to ensure a smooth check-in process and to receive updates about the event.

If you don’t have an email address or cannot register prior to the event – just come along on the day and one of our friendly staff will register you in.

A wide range of employers from various industries committed to employing people with disability will be present. This includes mainstream employers, dedicated disability employers, Australian Disability Enterprises (ADEs), small business and sole traders.

Yes, all our venues are fully accessible, with ramps and lifts available to ensure easy access for all attendees.
